We are very excited to be hosting Dr. John Carpenter, Curator of Japanese Art at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, NY, in Vancouver for a lecture on surimono prints tomorrow, Nov. 3, at 5:30 pm.
This lecture is co-hosted by the UBC Departments of Asian Studies and Art History and Visual Arts, and the Canadian Society for Asian Arts, and promises a rare glimpse into the world of surimono, the luxurious, privately published, limited edition woodblock prints of the late 18th and early 19th centuries.
I hope you can join us!
