On Sunday, June 6, I will be presenting an introduction to the haute couture design collection by Fumie at a residence in Point Grey, Vancouver. Fumie von Dehn is a collector of antique and vintage silk kimonos and uses the traditional fabrics as inspirations for her contemporary clothing design.
Fumie created the piece I wore for the Kabuki dance performances in Vancouver last month (photo below), and the versatility of her work always amazes me. This piece, like most of her work, is reversible inside and out as well as front to back, offering at least four different looks in one piece.
Following the presentation at 3:00 pm on June 6, Fumie's complete collection will be available for browsing and for purchase.
